Bomee Jung is co-founder and CEO of Cadence OneFive, a climate justice-focused public benefit corporation accelerating decarbonization of multifamily housing through innovative software.

Bomee has contributed to New York City’s climate leadership through policy and programmatic innovations since 2002. As the inaugural VP for Energy and Sustainability at the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), she developed public housing’s most ambitious 10-year strategic sustainability plan, grew the energy and sustainability construction program from $18 million to a $1+ billion pipeline, institutionalized the commitment to decarbonization through beneficial electrification, initiated portfolio-wide climate adaptation planning, and launched a large-scale (25 megawatt) distributed community solar program. Prior to NYCHA, Bomee designed and led the climate mitigation and adaptation programs of the New York office of Enterprise Community Partners, Inc., including securing New York City’s adoption of the Enterprise Green Communities Criteria as its green standard for affordable housing, and designing Enterprise’s post-Sandy resiliency initiative to build climate adaptation capacity of multifamily affordable housing owners. In 2003, Bomee co-founded GreenHomeNYC, Inc., a volunteer-driven nonprofit that brings professional green-building knowledge to lay audiences while supporting new entrants to green careers. In her first career, she developed Internet-based applications for digital agencies and start-ups.

Bomee holds a Master in City Planning degree from MIT. She serves on the board of the Institute for Market Transformation (imt.org), the loan committee of Capital For Change (capitalforchange.org) and credit committee of The Community Investment Guarantee Pool (https://www.guaranteepool.org/).

A visionary executive and with over 20 years of experience leading transformational sustainability and decarbonization programs in the built environment, she formerly created a $1B+ retrofit construction program at the largest apartment owner in the US. Her expertise spans policy, program design, and implementation, particularly in scaling impact for affordable housing portfolios. She contributed to setting the first green mandate for housing in NYC and to the public housing provisions of NYC’s landmark GHG mandate, Local Law 97.She holds a Master in City Planning from MIT and serves on the NYC Green Economy Advisory Council, the board of the Institute for Market Transformation (imt.org), and credit committees of Capital For Change (capitalforchange.org) and The Community Investment Guarantee Pool (https://www.guaranteepool.org/).
